Features and Enhancements
Show and Hide Controls Based on Live Room State
Almost everything a touch panel lists can now carry a Visibility Condition, an expression over the room’s live state that hides the item while it is not true. It is supported on AV sources, destinations and destination groups, displays, audio channels, cameras, document cameras, IPTVs, media players, timers, lighting presets, faders and toggles, blinds, HVAC zones, Bluetooth sinks, room link partners and the room’s available room modes. Panels update as soon as the state behind a condition changes. Anything without a condition is always shown, and an item whose condition cannot be read stays visible, so nothing disappears unexpectedly.
User Interface Profiles
Those same items can also be tagged with one or more UI Profiles, for example front and side. A panel running a given profile shows only the items tagged for it, so one room configuration can drive several panels that each present a different subset. An item with no profiles is shown on every panel.
Contextual Help Text on More Controls
Help text can now be attached to camera sources, camera presets, camera modes, audio channels, content layout scenes, media players, room link partners, timer modes and AV destinations, alongside the AV sources that already supported it, so a panel can offer guidance inside its popups.
Cisco Conferencing Improvements
The Cisco codec integration has been rebuilt so Space CE keeps up with the codec much more quickly, including bookings that are created, moved or cancelled. Booked Teams meetings that carry no dialling protocol now join, and booked Webex meetings join with their passcode instead of prompting for it. A room with conferencing misconfigured now starts normally with conferencing reported as unavailable, rather than failing to start. Macros can also act on the current call state (Idle, Dialling, Ringing or In Call).
Microphone Mute on a Conferencing Codec
A conferencing codec can now sit behind an audio channel, with the right mute applied for the channel’s role: a Microphones channel drives and tracks the codec’s microphone mute, while a Program Audio channel on the same codec keeps the speaker mute and now shows the codec’s actual volume and mute. Every way of muting inherits this, including the touch panel, macros, room link and the room’s startup and shutdown actions, so “muting the presenter mutes the codec microphone” becomes plain configuration. Rooms that do not list the codec as an audio channel are unaffected.
Room Mode Follows Conferencing Calls
The room can now change mode automatically around a conferencing call. Room Mode When In Call names the mode the room moves to when a call connects, and when the call ends the room either returns to the mode it was in beforehand (Restore Previous Room Mode When Meeting Ends) or goes to a named mode instead (Room Mode When Meeting Ends), which can be Off to turn the room off. Only a call that actually connects moves the room, so a failed or declined call changes nothing, and a mode someone chooses during the call is left alone when it ends.
Pod Locking by Room Mode
A new Lock Pods In Room Modes setting lists the room modes in which the pods are locked. Entering one of those modes reports every pod as locked so the panel can withdraw its pod controls, and any other room mode releases them. Macros can also set every pod in the room to On, Off or Group Mode in a single call, so a room mode change can drive the whole pod layout.
Occupancy Detection Through a DSP
An occupancy sensor can now be wired to a DSP instead of a digital input device. Signal presence on the configured DSP block drives the room’s occupancy and vacancy handling, and a new Active State setting chooses whether an active signal means occupied or vacant (default Occupancy). A sensor that is misconfigured is skipped rather than stopping the room’s other sensors from working.
Room Link: Joining a Room That Is Already Linked
A room that is already driving a link can now accept another room’s request to join it, which previously only the driving room could arrange from its own panel. The request follows the receiving room’s normal rules, so it is prompted, accepted automatically or held as pending exactly as a first link would be. A room that drives a link now stays listed as available on other panels instead of being greyed out, and a request the room itself is not allowed to make is refused on its own panel with the real reason rather than appearing to be the partner’s refusal.
Room Link: Direction Decided by the Receiving Room
When a link request does not name which room should drive, the receiving room now decides, based on the roles both rooms allow. A room whose role toward a partner is Both can therefore link with a partner that may only be primary, from either panel, where the request was previously declined. A new Allow Secondary Link Requests setting (off by default) lets a room ask to be the secondary, and partners this room may only follow are greyed out on the panel rather than offered.
Decoder Logo on Source Deselection
A new Decoder Logo source deselection behaviour shows the decoder’s logo image on a deselected display, instead of turning the decoder’s output off and leaving a no signal message on screen. Decoder Mute still turns the output off for rooms whose equipment needs no signal, and a decoder without a logo output treats Decoder Logo as a plain video mute.
Media Player and Sensor Control From Macros
Macros can now control media players and reset the occupancy shutdown timer directly, and read the state of both. Both were already able to trigger a macro; only direct control was missing.
Drivers
Driver Updates & Enrichments
Cisco Codec (SSH)
Rebuilt on the codec’s current interface. Bookings, call state and layout availability are pushed by the codec as they change rather than being asked for on a cycle, so the panel keeps up. Joining covers Teams, Webex (including passcode joins as a guest), Zoom, Google Meet and direct SIP dialling, alongside guest authentication, DTMF tone sending and do not disturb. A call that connected and later dropped is no longer reported as a failed join, and switching layout during a call no longer empties the layout list.
Extron IN1608 Switcher (TCP, ComPort Over TCP)
Volume is now expressed in whole decibels, so a level range means the same here as on the Extron DSP driver pointed at the same device. Previously a room configured for a 30 dB range got a 3 dB one. Configuration change required: any room whose Program Audio level targets an IN1608 must have its level Minimum and Maximum divided by ten. Rooms that set neither are unaffected.
Crestron NVX (HTTPS)
Fixed device status (stream, audio, USB and device details) being reported once at login and never refreshed after that. Also fixed USB pairing failing after a display was switched between two USB capable sources, which left the keyboard and mouse paired to the previous source.
Q-SYS QRC DSP (TCP)
Signal presence and phantom power changes made on the Q-SYS core are now reflected in Space CE, and level or mute changes to several channels at once now update every channel rather than only the first.
Visionary Decoder (HTTP)
Added a logo video mute, used by the new Decoder Logo source deselection behaviour so a deselected display shows the decoder’s configured logo.
Epson Projector (TCP)
Fixed power on being silently dropped from Space CE, both from the panel and at room startup, while power off worked.
Panasonic Projector (TCP)
Fixed the projector being reported in Innomesh Portal as not authenticating, which left a stale alert in place through every restart.
Lightware Taurus Switcher (Websocket)
Now authenticates with the username and password set in the device’s configuration, instead of a single credential built into the driver, so HC60 units with their own factory password come online. Configuration change required: any switcher with authentication enabled must have its Username and Password set in its configuration. Units with authentication turned off are unaffected.
Qbic Touch Panel (HTTP)
Widened the check for an expired session so the panel re-authenticates reliably, and the stored session is now cleared whenever communication drops.
Shure MXW Microphone Station (TCP)
Now covers the MXWNCS charging stations only. Access points are served by the new Shure MXW Microphone Receiver driver, which reports battery charge, battery health, docked, active and muted state for each microphone.
AMX Controller (TCP)
The reported model no longer carries a trailing ” Master”, so an MCP-108 is reported as MCP-108.
Cisco Codec, Cisco Camera, Extron NAVigator, Netgear Network Switch, Exterity IPTV, APC Power Distribution Unit and Biamp Tesira DSP (SSH)
These devices now detect a connection that has silently stopped carrying traffic and recover on their own, instead of appearing connected indefinitely and needing a room restart.
Brainbox Digital IO (TCP), Crestron CEN-IO and CEN-IO-RY (HTTPS), Extron UCS 303 (TCP), Kramer VS Switcher (ComPort Over TCP) and Q-SYS QRC Matrix (TCP)
Fixed device status being reported once after connecting and never refreshed.
New Driver Additions
- Crestron HD-MD 4KZ Matrix (HTTPS)
- Planar UltraRes L Multi Window Processor (TCP)
- Shure MXW Microphone Receiver (TCP)
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a room gradually slowing down and eventually becoming unresponsive when a single device stopped answering while still appearing connected. One unresponsive device no longer affects the rest of the room.
- Fixed a device on an SSH connection staying dark after its connection was dropped, needing a room restart to recover. A genuine outage is now reported as a loss of communication, and commands queued against the dead connection no longer reach the device when it comes back.
- Fixed a device that is offline over UDP building an ever growing backlog of queued commands, which could all be delivered at once when the device returned.
- Fixed the content layout scene not being recalled at room start in rooms whose macros call it through the room.
- Fixed previewing a source on a confidence monitor re-routing other destinations that are set to follow the last routed auxiliary destination, such as an audio output that only follows sources with audio. Preview routes no longer lead followers.
- Fixed breakaway audio not switching to the new source on AVoIP decoders configured without automatic stream initiation, and guarded against a decoder being sent a blank stream address when the audio source is not yet known.
- Fixed devices on a WebSocket connection showing a blank IP address in Innomesh Portal.
- Fixed the brand of VISCA cameras (PTZOptics, Lumens, BirdDog and other generic VISCA models) being shown blank in Innomesh Portal.
- Fixed a room occasionally losing track of its device states when several devices reported new information at the same moment. Once this happened, device states could stop updating in Innomesh Portal until the room was restarted.
- Fixed devices added to a room from a UC Appliance or Signage Player asset profile, such as Cisco boards and bars or BrightSign players, not being created.
- Fixed phantom power being reported as on for an audio channel with no DSP block to control it, and an empty command being sent to the DSP in its place.
- Fixed repeated touch panel reconnections each triggering a full panel reload. A burst of reconnections now costs at most two, and a panel still receives a complete set of states.
- Fixed a state value containing a brace character being silently discarded rather than applied, so a source or device whose name contains one is now handled correctly.
- Fixed a room taking longer and longer to reconnect to the control service after a prolonged outage, and eventually retrying without pause. Reconnection is now attempted at least once a minute.
- Fixed
Auto Share To Podsswitching itself off when the lecturer shared the last pod on the lecturer feed, or when that pod switched to watch the shared pod. Auto share now stays on, and the pods return to the lecturer feed when the share ends. - Fixed a pod being promoted to the lecturer destination while still following another pod, which pointed every other pod at a feed that pointed back at itself. A promoted pod now always shows one of its own inputs.
- Fixed a partner that accepts a link request having to wait for the rest of a group of partners before being linked. The link now starts with the first acceptance and later acceptances join the running link. Where the room requires all partners to accept, an unanswered request still fails the whole group.
- Fixed one partner declining a group link request unlinking the partners that had already accepted. Only the declining partner now drops out, unless the room requires all partners to accept.
