Ceiling Microphones

In Space CE configurations, the Ceiling Microphones section identifies which microphones in the room are ceiling mounted. Ceiling microphones are presented on the user interface as a single roof microphone control rather than as individual faders, so users mute and unmute the whole set with one button.

A ceiling microphone is controlled in one of two ways, and the configuration differs accordingly:

  • Directly on the device — set Device ID to the ceiling microphone device defined under Devices.
  • Through a DSP — set Microphone ID to the Microphones channel under Audio Sources that controls the microphone. The channel is a normal audio fader, so everything in Audio Sources applies to it, including its Type.

Config Properties

PropertyTypeDescription
IDstringUnique identifier. Other parts of the configuration reference the ceiling microphone by this value
Device IDstringDevice ID of the ceiling microphone, when controlling the device directly
Microphone IDstringThe Audio Sources Microphones channel that controls the ceiling microphone, when it is controlled through a DSP
DisablebooleanWhether this ceiling microphone is disabled for this system

Mute Synchronisation

Where a room has more than one ceiling microphone, the Synchronize Ceiling Microphone Mute States option under Audio Sources makes them act as one: muting or unmuting any ceiling microphone applies the same state to all the others.

Leave the option off where the ceiling microphones need to be muted independently.
